MusicIO App Now with Audio

Turning your iPad into a MIDI controller for your MacBook using, say, Chordion, ChordPolyPad, or - for the more adventurous - Lemur, is super easy with MusicIO.

I’ve been using MusicIO and Lemur to control Bitwig Studio and the combination makes for a nice compact and portable music production studio.

MusicIO now supports routing audio between an iPad and MacBook using a kernel extension called Soundflower (source code is available at GitHub).  I’ve been using an iConnectMIDI4+ to share audio between my iPad and MBP, and I’m a little reluctant to install a kernel extension, but MusicIO and Soundflower might make for a lighter weight solution in some cases.
